This is one more table-cloth I made with a V-stitch and bordered it with shell stitches =)

Rakhis

These are colurful Rakhis made with SC stitch. The colours represent the flag of my country. Rakhi is the festival where a sister ties the thread around the wrist of her brother as a symbol of her love and prayers for her brother's well-being and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her.

I have been making them since the past two years and I must say they take the occasion to another level for me and hopefully for my brothers too =) No Rakhi compares to a hand-made one in the world!  

Multi-Coloured Scarf

This is the scarf made with a simple Trellis Stitch, I decided to go with this stitch to keep it light and easy to wear, The tropics make it hard to wear anything that is too heavy and adding the global-warming it is a definite no-no =)

This multi-coloured yarn grabbed my attention and it was an instant hit with me. These colours would go with most of the outfits. And with the approaching winter it would feel nice to have it around one's neck and shoulders.

Pink Scarf

This is a scarf made from mercer-cotton yarn. It is slightly thicker in size but faster to finish work with, The stitches look amazing too. However, the work does get a bit heavy and for practical purposes a light stitch is recommended.

I used 'Romantic Lacy Stitch' again. Looks like I am a bit obsessed with it, doesnt it? ;) But my scarf although pretty, has turned out to be quite heavy. Definitely not recommended for summers....=D 

Tissue-Box

This, of course, is a tissue-box. I have made it with the 'basket-weave' stitch which I felt went perfectly well for the box. I made all the sides and stitched them together. The fun part was the making the top with the slit for the tissues.

Overall, I was happy with the final product although it could have been made much firmer. But I could not find any yarn thicker and sturdier than this one. However, the box inside holds its shape! =)

Table-Cloth

This is a table-cloth made from mercer cotton yarn. Its a fine thread and understandably it took me ages to finish this table-top. Although this is a mediium sized table-top but working with thin yarn takes a bit of a time.

I have crocheted this one with DC stictes upto the red border around the pick one. Later, I have added shell stiches to change the look and expanded them around the corners to increase its size and add a suitable fall.

Shawl

This is a shawl made with "Romantic Lacy Stitch' as "Pink & Yellow Scarf". I had picked it up from the artist Yolanda Lopez on you tube, I highly recommend her videos for their clarity in presentation and details. 

this one was specially a gift for a cousin sister for all the gifts she had lavished on me time and again. I hope she liked it and that she could put it to a good use.

The thing with gifts is that they are made with a lot of love and affection but sometimes they are not received very well for whatever reasons. 

In Hindu there is a custom of giving 'dakshina' along with the donation/charity. Dakshina is a gesture of gratitude expressed by the giver to the receiver for accepting his donation. Its meaning is tremendously beautiful because not every gift/charity/donation is necessarily received well. Hence when it is, there is a reason to thank the receiver. It instills humility in the giver that he does not necessarily have an upper hand and hence the feeling of superiority should not creep in and that it is a two-way process where both the giver and receiver are equal.
