My beautiful Purple Scarf

I  bought this beautiful purple yarn from one of my trips abroad. This is my favourite colour and its beauty doesn't wear on me no matter how often it appears in my wardrobe and elsewhere.

I found this yarn stuffed under the table. I just got lucky when I noticed it and I knew straightaway it was for me!!! =)

Once again I have made use of prim rose stitch to weave this scarf. However, in multi-colour yarn the stitch hardly matters because it doesn't really show. Though it does give a definite outline as per the weave. I just wish there were such pretty yearns available in my country too but I must admit, I haven't looked beyond my nearest yarn store. So I really can't complain...=)...that's just lazy me. I hate travelling distances for things I need on a regular basis....makes no sense, right?!?!?...;) But, jokes apart, I may have to soon....because I am quickly running out of options...=)....

AND!!! I almost forgot to add that the little purse you see in the end is woven out of the leftover yarn. I just didn't want to see it lying around or huddled up with the rest of the leftovers. So, I decided to weave a small purse out of it and although small, it is good enough to hold change or any other small accessory that one may wish to. I have yet to attach a fabric on the inside and also add a zip to  hold the contents. But nevertheless, it would look just the way it does right now =).

Blue Mobile Cover

I made this mobile cover for my darling sister. She needed one and I thought I could give it a shot! She bought this beautiful blue baby yarn and we decided to go ahead with it. I of course accessorised it with flowers as she loves them...and so do I!! =)

This is prim-rose stitch and I loved it over most I had seen recently. In fact, I have been making covers for window sills  with the same stich as it looks very pretty upon completion. There are many more patterns to be tried out and Thank God for that!!! Else..life would be boring.....=).....

The black & white shaded purse

I made this purse for my sister. She chose the yarn and I knitted using the basic sitch. Nothing fancy as such but the shaded yarn was pretty enough to make it stylish. And a pretty 3D crochet flower simply completes the look!!

Couple of more caps

Some more caps with different crotchet patterns....

The pink cap and the sweater

One more cap and a sweater for the little one as mentioned in one of my previous post. It was fun making them and especially embellishing them with pretty flowers!! And even bigger was the joy of seeing them worn by the little angel. Thanks for giving me that joy...

Sorry for not being to able to set the cap upright.

The first blue baby-cap

Its nice to get on the blog after almost ages. Somehow the inspiration to paint wasn't too strong. Sounds pretty terrible to admit but thats the truth!! =( But in the mean time I discovered a new art form- knitting/crotchet, which got me hooked on to it. It came as a complete surprise as it had never appealed to me as much before. Though as a child I had just about managed to pick up a basic knitting stitch and left it at that.

The thought of trying it out came to me and I decided to give it a shot. Well, for the beginners I couldnt see many teachers around who could give me the start. So I decided to turn to youtube and to my pleasant surprise, there were a umpteen videos and tutorials courtesy all the lovely ladies and their immaculate sense of presentation and teaching based on their years of experience. I highly recommend youtube for the beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

I would like to thank all the amazing ladies for their lessons. Although I may not be able to thank them individually here but I express my sincere gratitude towards them. Please keep up the good work!!

The cap u see above turned out to be my first ever art-work. It made me extremely happy and proud of my achievement =). Especially since I even learnt to handle the needles and make the first knot to base my work on.

This cap was gifted to a beautiful little girl of 2 months of a very dear friend =) It was an absolute pleasure to pass it on. May I continue making more art in this form and please my near and dear ones..
